Get the Multi-Touch Features of Apple’s Magic Mouse on Windows

This little hack has been known for about six months, or basically since the release of the Magic Mouse. And it’s so easy to perform even the most non-technical of people could do it, such as a Caveman! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist. ;) ) Really, all that’s needed on your part is to download and run an executable. Sounds simple enough, right? No catches, it really is. You can easily pair your Magic Mouse (ALL Multi-Touch capabilities working) with your Windows machine, provided it has some sort of Bluetooth hardware installed.

If you’re interested in trying this yourself, below are links to both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the drivers:

(NOTE: The drivers will definitely work on anything running Windows XP, Vista, and 7, but there’s no guarantee for anything older than these.)

32-bit version: http://uneasysilence.com/media/2009/11/AppleWirelessMouse.exe

64-bit version: http://uneasysilence.com/media/2009/11/AppleWirelessMouse64.exe

For those interested, the actual hacking consisted of nothing much more than extracting the drivers for the mouse from Apple’s Bluetooth update and porting them over to a Windows system. That’s all there was to it! It’s amazing how simple the coolest hacks can be!

Happy legal hacking, everyone!
